WWII Dadao in Wushu Competition
Recently I came across this video (although it was posted back in 2013) where a girl performed the WWII Dadao form at a modern Wushu competition.
When I first clicked on the video, I didn't had my hopes up. I thought it was just gonna be another flashy modern Wushu performance, using the WWII Dadao only. But I was delightfully surprised! The form performed was exactly as written in the historical manual.
For comparison, below was my WWII Dadao interpretation which I uploaded back in 2011.
I hope to see more people using the forms or sequences as written in historical manuals to compete in Wushu competitions, and hopefully win a medal or two! Jack Chen Ancient Chinese Martial Arts Manuals www.ChineseLongsword.com
